Thirty years of traceability, applied to libraries
CIPAM has specialised in identification and traceability since 1993, across industry, logistics, healthcare and public services. Since then we have been the exclusive distributor and integrator of Lyngsoe Systems Library Solutions for France and the Benelux. We supply the equipment, we install it, we connect it to your library management system, and we support it afterwards. This site is our library practice, published under its own name.

What that division of labour means
Lyngsoe Systems Library Solutions is a Danish manufacturer whose library range is deployed across Scandinavia, the United Kingdom and North America. They design and build the equipment.
CIPAM is your counterpart. We size the configuration, handle the procurement documentation, run the installation, deal with your LMS vendor, train your staff, and answer the phone when something stops working. Your contract is with us.
That matters for a public body, because it means the accountability for the whole chain sits in one place, in your jurisdiction and your language.
How we work
We tell you what not to buy. The most useful thing a supplier can say is that a piece of equipment is not justified in your building. We say it regularly, about sorters in particular, and we would rather lose a line item than sell one that will not pay for itself.
We publish limits. This site states, in writing, that RFID does not verify shelf order, that ISO 28560 does not encrypt anything, that gate counting is bidirectional, and that two management consoles do not yet support screen readers. Professional buyers have heard every sales argument. What they have not often heard is a supplier being specific about what a technology does not do.
We cite our sources. Every technical figure on this site comes from a manufacturer datasheet whose reference we quote, or from a published case study we name. Where a figure is not published, we say it is not published rather than estimate it.
Coverage
France, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. For projects elsewhere we will tell you plainly whether we are the right partner, and point you to the manufacturer if we are not.
Site visits to working installations are the most useful thing we can offer before a decision, and we would rather arrange one than present slides. Tell us where you are based.

Are you a reseller or an integrator ?
Both, and the second is the part that matters. We supply the equipment, and we also size the configuration, handle the installation, work with your LMS vendor on the interface, train your staff and provide support. A box on a pallet is not a project.
Do you work with library consultants and architects ?
Regularly, and preferably early. The decisions that are expensive to reverse, such as the floor length reserved for a sorting line and the position of an external return unit, are made at design stage, long before anybody buys equipment.
What if we already have RFID from another supplier ?
That is a common situation and usually workable. What determines it is your existing data model and security mechanism. Have a sample of your actual tags tested before you commit either way, and we will tell you honestly what migrates and what does not.

Not a demonstration and not a slide deck. Tell us your collection size, your annual transactions and which LMS you run, and we will tell you what is worth doing.
